Jayasurya’s IDI is a punchy action thriller

Versatile actor Jayasurya’s latest Malayalam action flick Inspector Dawood Ibrahim aka IDI, directed by debatant Sajid Yahiya, turns out to be an instant hit among the Malayalam audience. The movie was marketed as a action-comedy thriller and it has lived up the hopes of fans and audience. The movie has hit the screen across Kerala on Friday along with Ranjith Shankar’s horror comedy movie which again stars Jayasurya in the lead. Dawood Ibrahim (Jayasurya) who becomes a police officer out of his passion and hard work. As he moves on with his job, the struggles and pressure which he faces to carryout his duty forms the plot of the story. The movie has been blended perfectly by the director to make a perfect action thriller with lot of humor. Sajid Yahiya, who earlier was seen as an actor in Double Barrel, Bangalore Days, debut as director with IDI and has done a decent job. The movie was scripted by the director along with Arous Irfan and the script is pretty racy and engaging.IDI - Inspector Dawood Ibrahim (2)

From the beginning itself, the movie is treated as an action thriller adding all the elements required for an masala entertainer, which resembles Tamil action flicks. Jayasurya once again proves that he can do any characters with ease and perfection with this movie. All the charachers in the movie including the lead lady, Sshivada, along with other artists Madhupal,Joju George, Yog Japee, Kottayam Nazeer, Nandhan Unni, Sudhi Koppa, Joju George, Sunil Sukhada, Molly Kannamaly,  Saiju Kuruppu and Sajan Palluruthy has done good job. The technical team, which include Rahul Raj (Music and BGM), Sujith Sarang (Cinematography) and Shameer Mohammed (Editing), has given the extra punch for the movie, which makes IDI one of the best masala entertainer released in recent times in Mollywood. The movie was produced by Dr Ajas Ibrahim and Arun under the banner of Magic Lantern productions.

Verdict: Inspector Dawood Ibrahim aka IDI is a visual treat to the fans and film lovers.
