Ranjith Shankar’s Pretham is scary-comedy entertainer Ranjith Shankar – Jayasurya’s much awaited Mollywood venture Pretham, horror-comedy flick which was in the limelight since its launch, has finally hit the theatres on Friday 12th August and has met all the expectations of a horror film. The movie stars Jayasurya, Aju Varghese, Sharafudeen, Pretham (48)Govind Padmasoorya and Pearle Maaney in the lead. The movie revolves around Denny (Aju Varghese), Shibu (Govind Padmasoorya) and Priyan (Sharafuddeen) who ventures in to hotel business and buys a resort near a beach. They come across some strange and scary experiences in resort and tries consult Priest to help but does not work. They finally come across John Don Bosco (Jayasurya), a mentalist. And the story unfolds there after form the crux of the movie. The writer – director Ranjith Shankar, who had done the first Malayalam horror serial ‘Nizhalukal’, has tried to give a refreshing horror movie experience to the malayali audience with the film Pretham and he has been successful to a large extend. He has beautifully weave the movie with comedy and scary moments. Jayasurya has hit the right chord with the character John Don Bosco in Pretham. His presence in the movie is delightful to watch. The Aju Varghese, Sharafudeen, Govind Padmasoorya and Pearle Maaney along with other stars also done really well in the movie. Cinematography by Jithu Damodar and music by Anand Madhusoodanan has helped Ranjith to provide the right mood throughout the film. The movie Pretham is produced by Ranjith and Jayasurya under the banner Dreams N Beyond. Pretham is the third outing of Jayasurya with Ranjith Shankar after Punya
