Much awaited malaylam movie, Take Off has finally released on Friday 24th March and since it release, the movie is well received by the audience and Critics and in no time it has topped the hit charts. The movie is the directorial debut of prominent editor Mahesh Narayan and lead roles are handled by Parvathy, Kunchacko Boban and Fahadh Faasil.
The movie is based on the real life incidents of Indian nurses from Tikrit, Iraq in 2014, who were held captive by the IS Militants. The film begin with two nurses Sameera(Parvathy), 30 year old divorcee, and Shahid(Kunchacko Boban) moving to Tikrit in Iraq, a warzone area, to fillfull the needs of their family and repay their debts. They two bond each other during the period in Iraq and everything goes well untill the IS militants take control the hospital. Rest of the movie showcases the emotional and physical tortures and trauma on the captive of the IS Militants and how the nurses are rescued from Iraq.
After Ennu Ninthe Moideen, Pravathy has delivers a stellar performance in Take Off and she is well supported by Fahad Fazil and Kunchacko Boban. Kunchacko Boban has delivered a matured and subtle performance and it can be considered as one of the best performance in carrer till now. Fahad Fazil, who plays the role of an Indian Ambassador, has been a delight to watch.
Mahesh Narayanan and P.V. Shajikumar has scripted the movie well and had all the ingredients essential for a thriller movie. The direction by Mahesh Narayanan and Cinematography by Sanu John Vargehese has made the movie match the quality of big budget Bollywood movies.
The movie is jointly produced by Anto Joseph, Shebin Backer and Megha Rajesh.
Verdict: Take Off is one of the best survivor thriller movie in recent times and is a must watch.
